For example, whether the insulation between the welding tongs and the welding cable is damaged, and whether the welding machine's shell is grounded and the welding machine's connection points are in good contact. It is not allowed to start operations without a security check.

(2) When working in small spaces, cabins, containers, and pipelines, in order to prevent electric shock, you must wear insulated shoes, with rubber sheets or other insulating cushions under your feet; it is best to work alternately between two people to look after each other. Otherwise, a guardian is required to pay attention to the safety of the operator at all times. Whenever there is a dangerous situation, immediately cut off the power supply for rescue.

(3) When the clothes are wet after sweating, do not lean on the live steel plate or workpiece to prevent electric shock.

(4) When the work site is wet, the ground should be covered with rubber sheets or other insulating materials.

(5) You must wear leather gloves to replace the welding rod, and do not operate with bare hands.

(6) In the case of electrification, for safety, the welding tongs shall not be clamped under the armpit to move the workpiece to be welded or hang the welding cable on the neck.

(7) When pushing and pulling the knife switch, the face is not allowed to directly face the switch to prevent the spark from burning the face caused by the short circuit.

(8) The following operations must be performed after the power supply is cut off:

When changing the welder's joints; when changing the secondary circuit when replacing the weldment; when replacing the safety device; when the welding machine fails and needs to be repaired; when the welding machine is moved to the work site; when the work is completed or when leaving the work site temporarily.

2. Safety requirements for welding cables

Welding cables are insulated wires that connect the welding machine and welding tongs (guns), weldments, etc., and should meet the following safety requirements:

(1) Welding cables should have good conductivity and insulating outer layer. Generally, it is made of red copper core (multi-strand thin wire) wire outsourcing rubber insulation sleeve, and the insulation resistance is not less than 1Mn.

(2) Lightweight and soft, can be bent and twisted arbitrarily, easy to operate.

(3) Welding cables should have good resistance to mechanical damage, oil resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance.

(4) The length of the welding cable should be determined according to the specific situation. Too long the voltage drop increases, and too short is inconvenient for work. Generally, the cable length is 20-30m.

(5) There must be an appropriate cross-sectional area. The cross-sectional area of the welding cable should be selected according to the regulations according to the size of the welding current. To ensure that the wire does not overheat and burn out the insulation layer, see the specific regulations for the cable cross section and maximum operating current.

(6) If the welding cable is used as a whole, there should be no joints in the middle. If it is necessary to use short wires to connect to a long length, there should be no more than 2 connectors. When connecting a long cable, the connector should be firmly connected, and the connection should be well insulated.

(7) It is strictly forbidden to use the metal structures, pipes, tracks or other metals of the factory building to be used as wires.

(8) Do not place the welding cable next to the hot weld metal near the arc to avoid burning the insulation layer. At the same time, avoid rolling and abrasion. It is forbidden to contact the welding cable with combustible materials such as oil and grease.

(9) The connection between the welding cable and the welding machine must use a copper (or aluminum) wire lug to prevent the secondary terminal board from burning out and causing a fire.

(10) The insulation of welding cables should be checked regularly every six months.

(11) The length of the power cord connecting the welding machine and the switchboard should not exceed 3m due to the high voltage, in addition to ensuring good insulation. If longer wires are really needed, safety measures at intervals should be taken, that is, they should be placed more than 2.5m from the ground along the wall with porcelain vases. It is strictly forbidden to lay the power cord along the ground, let alone fall into muddy water.

3. Safety requirements for the use of welding tools
